Montgomery Women’s Facility which is situated in Ware Ferry Road was established on March 1976.

This small facility back then was renovated eventually to a new and larger one, which now has a total capacity to house 276 inmates, both females and males. As time passes by, the facility becomes more and
more adequate for the treatment of its inmates. It features a lot of services and programs for the benefits of its inmates like giving them full time jobs outside the facility.

Kilby Correctional Facility

Kilby Correctional Facility which lies outside of Montgomery is a maximum-security prison facility which had formally opened during December 1969. The facility with a hospital unit has dormitory-style buildings which has a total capacity to house 1,250 inmates.

This facility has a total security level within its perimeter, and it maintains dog-tracking teams.
It also offers a lot of services and programs for the all its inmates’ benefits, such as educational programs, therapy programs, industrial programs, and complete medical services for any health or mental problems.
