Bullock County Birth & Death Records

In Alabama, the types of records that are known as Vital Records – those records that record the births, deaths, marriages and divorces of the citizens of Alabama – are split into two distinct categories. These divisions are based essentially on whom is able to access them. Birth and death records, as well as birth certificates and death certificates, are available only to people with a particular relation to the person named on the certificate. Alternatively, marriage and divorce records are freely available to the public at any time.

If you are looking for birth records for people born in Bullock County, then you will want to begin your search at the ADPH, whom maintain all records of birth and death on a statewide level. The specific page for birth certificates and birth records is located at: Here, information regarding relationship requirements to the individual named on the form, as well as an indication that they have all birth records past 1908.

Death records and death certificates are also provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health. The corresponding web page for death records is at Here, relationship requirements are detailed in a similar fashion to those of birth records.

Please note that a copy of any Vital Record, including both death and birth records, will cost $15.00 for the first copy, and $6.00 for each subsequent copy. If you are looking for records that are older than those kept by the Alabama Department of Public Health, then you should contact the City Clerk of Bullock County. They should have older records, and can be contacted by telephone at (334)738-2720.
